

Really enjoyed the team working for us and Branden going through all of the new electronic features with me (my 2008 Honda CRV that had none of that)! Highly recommend Mac Haik for being straight forward with the entire process. The longest wait was getting it a bath, and we were out the door just before 9 pm. Negotiations went smoothly (we ended up going with 0% interest instead of the $ 2500 rebates), trade in appraisal was about 15 minutes and was fair for my car and then we waited about 30 minutes for Andy in Finance (they have fresh popcorn to snag while waiting). Did another test drive to make sure it had everything I wanted, went to Branden’s desk and talked numbers. Lo and behold, the fully loaded Escape in Deep Impact Blue was less than 5 miles from me at Mac Haik! I called to verify it was still there, spoke with Branden and ran over around 7 pm. Once there, I went to to see if what I wanted was even in the area. By 3 pm, I was feeling rather defeated and we went home. And while I love the CRV’s, the newer body style is «meh» and the estimated payments Honda was giving were laughable (we have great credit, so don’t come at me with estimated $ 642 payment on a $ 30k vehicle, that’s just insulting my intelligence). Went to a different Ford dealership who didn’t have the options I wanted (even though it was listed on their website) and didn’t seem interested in finding me what I wanted. After testing Nissan, Honda, Buick and Ford, I narrowed down my preference to Ford or Honda (already owned a 2008 Honda CRV). Let’s set the scene first: I had researched and done a couple of test drives over the past week. To sum up, if you are looking for a service center that will fix your car quickly, Mac Haik will do neither. Now they are saying it will take 20+ days and still no rental car. Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the transmission, so I had to take it back to them. Rather than pay them $ 600, I had the car towed to my house, and replaced it myself. Later that day they called back to say they couldn’t look at the transmission without fixing the radiator fan first. They told me it would be $ 600 to replace the fan. After a week, they got around to trying to fix a separate issue. I asked for a rental car, since the Ford Fiesta is known for having transmission problems, and since they didn’t fix it last time. I took it to the dealer, and this time it would be 15+ days to even look at it. I left my car in the garage, came back down later, and it started working. I decided to take it to the dealer, but unfortunately, reverse didn’t want to work. I pulled into the parking garage, and the engine was shaking and the check engine light was on.

Eventually, I was driving to work, and the car seemed to stick when it shifted gears. The issue still continued, but it only occurred once to twice a week, so I knew taking it back wouldn’t do anything. After that amount of time, they said the couldn’t reproduce the issue, so they gave it back to me. I was going on vacation, so I didn’t mind. They said it could take a week or longer to look at it. I took it in to the dealer right before a vacation. It would randomly stall when coming to a stop. I started to notice issues with the transmission this year. Their service department is awful, though.
